Structural Assessment / Report Available?
Retrofitting Design / Drawing Available?
ℹ Structural assessment Concrete retrofitting should be based on the actual condition and structural requirements of the member. Where structural drawings, assessment reports or strengthening designs are available, they should be reviewed before the repair methodology is finalised.

Concrete Honeycombing?
Significant Section Loss?May require structural engineer review
Exposure EnvironmentSelect all that apply
Carbonation / Chloride Testing?
ℹ Concrete damage Cracking, spalling, delamination and reinforcement corrosion can have different causes and require different repair or strengthening approaches. Damaged and unsound concrete is assessed and removed before the appropriate repair or strengthening system is installed.

Previous Structural Modifications?
Previous Repairs / Retrofitting?
Describe Previous Work
Rebar Scanning / Cover Meter Testing?
Concrete Strength Testing?
ℹ Existing structural information Available drawings, reinforcement details and testing results help determine the existing capacity and reinforcement arrangement. Where information is unavailable, suitable site investigation or testing may be required before strengthening is finalised.

Retrofitting / Repair System

Type of Retrofitting RequiredSelect all that apply
Section Enlargement Required?
Additional Reinforcement Required?
FRP / CFRP Strengthening Required?
CFRP ApplicationSelect all that apply
CFRP Form
Approx. Number of Layers
Member Corners Rounded?Sharp corners must be rounded before wrapping
Substrate Dry & Sound for Bonding?Moisture and weak concrete reduce CFRP bond
Protective Coating Over CFRP?Select all that apply
Epoxy / PU Injection Required?
Corrosion Protection Required?
Bonding / Interface Treatment Required?
ℹ Carbon fibre wrapping Carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets and laminates are bonded to concrete with structural epoxy to add flexural, shear and confinement capacity. It adds almost no weight or section depth and does not corrode, which suits bridges, hospitals, hotels and older structures that must stay in service.
ℹ Retrofitting system selection The strengthening method depends on the existing member, structural demand, damage mechanism, available geometry, access and required increase in capacity. The final system should be selected from the approved structural repair or strengthening design.

How We Deliver Your Project

01
Structural Assessment & Site Inspection

The affected structural members are inspected to understand their existing condition, visible damage, access conditions and intended strengthening requirement. Available structural drawings, assessment reports and strengthening designs are reviewed before work begins.

Structural assessmentExisting condition review
02
Member Identification & Condition Mapping

The structural members requiring treatment are identified and their condition is documented. Cracks, spalling, exposed reinforcement, corrosion, delamination, honeycombing and other visible defects are mapped before repair.

Crack mappingDamage assessment
03
Temporary Support & Work Area Preparation

Where required by the approved strengthening methodology, temporary supports, propping or load restrictions are established before damaged concrete is removed or strengthening work begins.

Where structurally required
04
Concrete Removal & Surface Preparation

Unsound, loose and deteriorated concrete is carefully removed until sound substrate is reached. The exposed concrete and reinforcement are cleaned and prepared for the specified repair or strengthening system.

Unsound concrete removalSurface preparation
05
Reinforcement Assessment & Corrosion Treatment

Exposed reinforcement is inspected for corrosion and section loss. Corroded steel is cleaned and treated using the specified corrosion-protection system. Additional reinforcement is installed where required by the approved strengthening design.

Reinforcement treatmentAs specified
06
Crack & Defect Repair

Cracks and localised defects are repaired using suitable compatible materials. Depending on the crack condition and approved methodology, treatment may include resin injection, flexible injection, repair mortar or other specified systems.

Epoxy / PU / Repair mortar as specified
07
Interface & Bonding Preparation

The existing concrete surface is prepared to achieve the required bond with the new repair or strengthening material. Bonding agents, mechanical preparation or other interface treatments are applied where specified.

As per approved system
08
Structural Strengthening

The selected strengthening system is installed according to the approved structural design. Depending on the project, this may include micro-concrete or RCC jacketing, steel strengthening, FRP / CFRP reinforcement, section enlargement or other approved strengthening methods.

For carbon fibre wrapping, corners are rounded, the substrate is ground and primed, and CFRP sheets or laminates are bonded with structural epoxy in the designed number of layers and orientation — then finished with a UV, fire or plaster protective coat where specified.

System and dimensions as designedCorner roundingEpoxy-bonded CFRPProtective coat where specified
09
Micro Concrete / Repair Material Placement

Where specified, micro concrete or suitable structural repair material is placed into the prepared strengthening zone. Formwork and confinement are maintained as required to achieve complete filling and proper consolidation.

Where specified
10
Curing & Protection

Repair and strengthening materials are allowed to cure under the conditions required by the selected system. The treated structural members are protected from impact, loading and disturbance during the specified curing period.

Curing as per system specification
11
Testing & Quality Verification

Where required, the completed repair or strengthening work is inspected and tested. Testing may include concrete strength, bond strength, crack monitoring, load testing or other verification specified for the project.

As specified by design / consultant
12
Final Inspection & Handover

The completed structural repair or strengthening work is inspected against the approved scope and methodology. Photographs and applicable test or completion records are compiled for handover.
