Operational Procedure
We begin by assessing the area, identifying the waterproofing requirement and reviewing the existing surface, water exposure, intended finish and site conditions.
The substrate is inspected for cracks, damaged areas, loose material, contamination and existing coatings or waterproofing. Unsuitable material is removed and the surface is prepared to receive the selected waterproofing system.
Cracks, damaged screed, honeycombing, hollow areas and other substrate defects are repaired using suitable compatible materials before waterproofing begins.
The floor is checked to ensure that water can drain effectively toward the designated outlets. Ponding areas, defective drainage points and relevant slope issues are addressed where included in the agreed scope.
Floor drains, pipe penetrations, floor-to-wall junctions, corners, thresholds and other vulnerable details are treated to maintain continuity of the waterproofing system.
Where required, a compatible primer or base treatment is applied to the prepared substrate before the main waterproofing system.
The selected waterproofing system is applied uniformly at the specified coverage, thickness and number of coats. Each layer is allowed the required drying or curing time before the next stage.
Where required, reinforcement mesh, fabric or additional waterproofing layers are incorporated at cracks, corners, joints, penetrations and other vulnerable areas.
Where specified, waterproofing is continued vertically onto walls and other wet-area surfaces to provide continuous protection behind the final finish.
Where applicable, the completed waterproofing is subjected to an appropriate water or ponding test after the required curing period. The waterproofed area is inspected before the final finish is installed.
The completed waterproofing is protected from damage during subsequent construction. The surface is prepared for the specified tile, screed, concrete, soil or other final finish.
The completed waterproofing is inspected for continuity, detailing and visible defects. The finished work is photo-documented and handed over after the required curing, testing and protection stages are completed.
